| Making a Call |
When you make a call from abroad using Sim4theworld, it is exactly the same as making a call in the UK so long as you have a compatible handset. The only difference is that instead of getting directly through to the person you are calling, there will be a brief 'call back' between dialling the number and being connected.
1. Dial the number including the international dialling code ie. +12121234567
2. You will see a "Please Wait" message. The phone will then disconnect. Different phones will display varied messages. Some may even say “call failed” or even “call rejected”
3. Please wait & within 2-7 seconds you will receive a ‘call back'
4. Answer the call and you will hear a message saying your call is being connected.
5. You will be connected to the person you are calling.
Hence, save or dial the numbers as explained above show below:
+number(countrycode&number). For example:
| UK Landline: |
|
+442071234567 |
| UK Mobile: |
|
+447887123456 |
| USA: |
|
+12121234567 |
| Austria Landline |
|
+43112345 |
| Belgium Mobile |
|
+32477123456 |
| Greece/Athens |
|
+302101234567 |
| India Mobile |
|
+919812345678 |
| Nigeria Lagos |
|
+23411234567 |
Since the SIM card is not compatible with all handsets, you may find that you do not receive the ‘Call back' This means that your handset is not compatible to work as shown above. Instead, you simply have to save or enter the number prefixed with *125*1* countrycode&number #.
Hence, save or dial the numbers as show below:
*125*1*countrycode&number #. For example
| UK Landline: |
|
*125*1*442071234567# |
| UK Mobile: |
|
*125*1*447887123456# |
| USA: |
|
*125*1*12121234567# |
| Austria Landline |
|
*125*1*43112345# |
| Belgium Mobile |
|
*125*1*32477123456# |
| Greece/Athens |
|
*125*1*302101234567# |
| India Mobile |
|
*125*1*919812345678# |
| Nigeria Lagos |
|
*125*1*23411234567# |
Remember to end the number with the # key and it is very important to store the numbers accurately as shown above or the SIM card will not work.
Receiving calls anywhere in the world and sending text messages remains exactly the same.

Your new UK Mobile Number |
| Your Sim4theworld card will come with its own UK Mobile Number. You will find your number on your personal details sheet that accompanies the SIM card.
So that people can phone you from the UK or anywhere, they will need your new number. Make sure to inform people of your new number whilst you're away. One way of doing this is by TEXTING them your new sim4theworld mobile number. |

Calling the UK |
| If you have stored a list of contact numbers on your UK SIM card, you will need to copy these onto your phone. So when you insert your Sim4theworld card, the numbers will still be available to you.
To use your UK contact numbers when abroad, you must amend each one by adding the UK 's international dialling code ie +44. For example, to reach 01753 123456 while you are overseas, you must dial +441753 123 456. If your handset does not work in the normal manner you will have to save the number as *125*1*441753123456#
Once you have dialled the number, your phone will show a message asking you to wait. Next you will receive a 'call back'. A few seconds after answering the 'call back', you will be connected to the person you have called.
TEXTING someone from abroad is even simpler with a Sim4theworld card. Just prefix the number with the appropriate international dialling code +44 (in the case of the UK) and send your message as you would at home. |
